Teen Court

The mission of Teen Court is to interrupt developing patterns of criminal behavior by promoting feelings of self-esteem, motivation for self improvement and the development of a healthy attitude towards authority. The Teen Court offenders as well as student volunteers serve on the Teen Court juries. This challenges the youth to act as responsible citizens and teaches the importance of remaining law abiding young men and women.

Teen Court serves offenders ages 11 through 18 who are charged with Class C citations and nonviolent misdemeanor offenses. Teen court Hearings are held every other Monday evening in the Cumberland County Courthouse.

Referrals are received from the Fayetteville Police Department, Juvenile Court, School Resource Officers, District Court, Sheriff’s Department and Juvenile Court Counselors. Teen court Hearings are held every other Monday evening in the C.C. Courthouse.

Like many other non-profit agencies, Teen Court welcomes volunteers. Volunteers needed include Attorneys, Judges and Jurors. Training is provided for all volunteer positions. Please call Tina Estle at (910)486-9465  or email the Information Request Form below for more information on this program or on how you can serve in this program.
