News & What's NewWhat's NewCommunity Channel ProgrammingThe Cumberland County JCPC in association with CommuniCare, Inc. is now airing a TV show on the Community Channel. "Community Link" airs every other Wednesday evening at 9:30 pm on cable channel 7. Our goal is to provide families with a quality informational show that will help link families with community resources. Please watch and give us your ideas. If you have topics or guests to suggest, call our Community Programs Coordinator Sarah Hemingway at 222-6073. NewsJCPC Grows Relations With The Faith Community and Other Youth ProvidersUnder the Chair's leadership, the JCPC has launched "FaithWorks" -- a series of meetings with various churches and faith-based organizations to grow the dialogue about how to best reach out to vulnerable youth and their families. For more information or to get involved (we want you to!), call Sarah Hemingway at 222-6073. Also in the works is a highly collaborative effort with Fayetteville United, the Partnership For Children, the Community Collaborative, the Family Court Administrator, the Juvenile Court Counselors, and many, many others to grow collaboration and resource sharing for all at-risk service agencies in the County. Currently operating under the name "Every Child Coalition", the group is forming and moving forward on the publication of a "living" resource guide as well as strategies for how to maintain effective communication, collaboration, and community benchmarking for at-risk youth and their families. Again, for more information call Sarah Hemingway at 222-6073. Annual Needs and Resources Assessment! The JCPC completes an annual Community Needs and Resource Assessment. If you have ideas as to how to strengthen families, build effective prevention programs, or otherwise inform the council, please call Sarah Hemingway at 222-6073 to provide any information from your perspective on youth, gangs, family problems, etc. that contribute to negative outcomes for youth.
