Services

Cumberland County CommuniCare, Inc. provides JCPC coordination services for the  Council as well as JCPC funded programs. CommuniCare also provides training, program development, and program management for these programs.

CommuniCare, Inc. is a community-based nonprofit agency. Its mission is to help strengthen children and families by coordinating and delivering appropriate services based on individualized family assessment and planning. CommuniCare helps coordinate juvenile crime prevention programs (e.g., mentoring, adult guidance, counseling, assessment, restitution and mediation programs) along with developing new services as needs emerge throughout Cumberland County. CommuniCare helps lead annual planning and program development activities to identify key risk factors that may lead to delinquent or undisciplined behavior. It works with churches, county agencies and other local nonprofit or "grassroots" agencies in partnerships that effectively bring services and assets to local neighborhoods.

Coordination Services

Cumberland County CommuniCare, Inc. provides staffing and administrative support for the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council and JCPC funded programs to help achieve the overall goals of effectively reducing juvenile crime, building collaborative networks of service providers, and ultimately strengthening our families and communities - Funding for JCPC staff support comes from the County of Cumberland, the County Commissioners and the County Manager's Offices.

Legislators Breakfast

Annually, the Council hosts the Legislators Breakfast  to inform our local government and state legislators  as to the progress of the Council and the issues that affect Cumberland County youth and their families. Lawmakers  are informed of the Council's current status and future goals that focus on serving at-risk youth and the Council's planning for safer communities. This serves to maintain communication with our legislative delegation as well as local government and emphasize the success of community programs funded to provide early intervention programs and services that serve the level1 and level 2 sanctioned youth as mandated by DJJDP.

MIS/IT Support Services

CommuniCare and the Juvenile Assessment Center provide a range of IT/MIS services to the JCPC and their member programs. Services include Client Tracking System (CTF) support provided by John Clark and Sarah Hemingway; background web services via the Cumberlandjcpc.org, JuvenileAssessmentCenter.org and CCCommuniCare.org web sites...as well as period maintenance and equipment support to the programs. CommuniCare also provides data tool development, training, and other software support when requested.
